What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
Well, I was taken out for my 45th Birthday by a friend who had high end taste and went to a place called Tarry Lodge which closed down since. He was a renaissance man who knew good taste and loved Parisian food.
So after sitting down at the fancy restaurant he order an appetizer of Prosciutto and they brought it out like a Charcuterie board with cheeses. We then ordered our meals and he wouldn’t let me see prices.
Well, after dinner was finished he got the bill and I saw it. The prosciutto was $45 just by itself. Granted, it was exquisite I yelled at him for ordering such an expensive item (now to me with inflation that was a bargain).
The truth of the matter was he showed me that money wasn’t an object and he taught me not to let guys buy me pizza and call it a date. I’m worthy of a $45 appetizer but I don’t need ever again. One in a lifetime was enough and today I’m still friends with my friend who has expensive taste buds.
