Funny Follows Me

Hard work makes you feel fulfilled if you work for yourself or have a really great boss (which is rare).

When I was decorating cakes and had a side business many years ago I took great pride once the cake was completed after hours of decorating. I used to put the cakes in the refrigerator and “peek” in awe that I created a custom cake. My exhaustion was all worth it when I got to deliver the cake and see the smiles on the kids or adults face. Those were my proudest days of my life and nobody had to give me a performance appraisal.

Since today is the last day of baseball I will attach one of my Yankee cakes I made. The person who got it was a sick child and undergoing treatment for cancer.

I got an email the next day that he had smiled the first time in months and tears rolled down my eyes. That was worth it all.
