Funny Follows Me

So last Halloween was the first one in about 20 years of having total solitude and peace as I was settling into my new living space. I had bought candles when I moved in but I bought one “cheap candle” called Witches Brew from HomeGoods. I love Hocus Pocus, so I watched Hocus Pocus 1 & 2 back to back for hours that day. I decided I would light the Witches Brew candle on Halloween Night.

So as I have Winnie, Mary, and Sarah playing on my TV Screen I walked over to the candle and leaned over to light the candle. They key word here is LEANED over. Well all the sudden I smelt smoke and was blowing myself out. My hair (extensions) had caught fire. It was a WOOSH sound and my first HOT FLASH I ever experienced. I ran to the bathroom and saw that I had burnt black hair but only in one section, oh and I smelt like a fire. I never had extensions before but my first reaction was to laugh. ONLY ME! I kept thinking well this is what you get for lighting the “black candle” (the candle was black and white).

I texted my hairstylist and set up a follow up appointment to fix my hair that was singed. It will go down as one of my funniest Halloween’s! Every time I watch the scene in Hocus Pocus where Winnie comes out of the furnace. So be safe and never lean over with long hair extensions while lighting candle or else you will be lit! lol
