Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
My most expensive item are Sarah Jessica Parker Shoes. My first pair was on a Galentine’s Day sale for $125 and were originally $250. They are white with her SJP name all over them. I won’t ever sell them since they were the first pair of SJP’s.
Then, I got hooked and saw her iconic pink Satin Fawn Shoe which was ironically how she launched her collection at Bloomingdale’s and I saw her but did not meet her since I couldn’t afford them and you only got a signed picture and selfie with her with purchase. I still took a picture and just loved those candy pink shoes that to me said, “Girls just wanna have fun”.
So, when I turned 50 last year she had a early Black Friday Sale and those shoes were $395 and I was like nope still too much. Again, I said to myself out of my range for now.
So, I signed up for alerts because the moment she had sales her inventory would sell out on the internet and my size 41 shoe was taken. It was the equivalent of putting a child in a bakery and giving it a carrot.
So, one night I woke up around 12:15am, which wasn’t like me. I have episodes were I’m so tired that I’ve eaten in my sleep, facebooked, but this night would be a first.
I woke up to a text and an email saying the SJP shoe sale began early at midnight. My semi asleep self opened the website, found the shoe, scanned all the way passed the 39, 40 which are x’d out and 41 were available. I put it in on my card for under $250, got a free SJP candle with purchase worth $48 and split my payments into 6 months with no interest (all while groggy). Most people’s eyes light up when shopping but mine were half asleep.
I waited for the confirmation notice and placed my phone back on the charger.
When I woke up the next morning, I immediately saw that SJP had her shoe sale on since midnight. Then I checked my emails. Then I screamed!!!! I had bought the shoes I always wanted in the middle of the night and got a bargain. Happy early 50th Birthday!! Life might go downhill at 50 but not when your wearing SJP shoes!!!
Her shoes are European and I’m a size 10 which equals 41 but you can go bigger in European shoes.
So, that’s my story of buying shoes and thinking my grandmother in heaven woke me up early for an early 50th Birthday.
