Funny Follows Me

So today 7/7/23 is my first ever BLOG. I’m 50 years old but in my 51st year if your of Italian Decent. Yes, I’m 100% Italian; have more vowels in my name that make my last name so long that when I took the SAT’s in high school, my whole name wouldn’t fit. I was born in the 70’s so I’m a child of the 80’s and 90’s; perhaps the best era if you wanted to rock a scrounge and dress like Cyndi Lauper and Madonna. I’m a Sagittarius which means that I’m outgoing, funny, and gets along with many.

The purpose of my blog is to make people laugh. Why, you ask? Well, as the youngest of 3 children (all girls) I had to really voice my opinion to be heard or to look a certain way to draw attention to me. I want to write a book but I think a blog might be a good idea since in typical Saggitarius style, I have trouble finishing things and have the attention span of the dog in Disney’s UP (squirrel). I often forget my next sentence or point and a common term I use it, “Damn, my thought derailed”. That’s why short blogs might be best for me at this moment.

I love reviewing items and have a TikTok that allows me to be on camera and get over my fear of talking in front of people. When I joined Facebook 15 years ago, who knew a “wall” could talk BACK to you? I realized all this social media had given us a self sense of security to post our feeling, our thoughts and our pictures of are perfect lives. That wasn’t true at all – in fact it gave a false sense of what life was supposed to be and made us all more depressed. Ironically, threads just started yesterday; and the logo looks like a paperclip and a screw. Yes, were all screwed now; yet another platform to check daily and be alerted when our stalker has once again found us. I wish there was a universal “block” button for all social media platforms.

So, my platform is aimed to make you laugh, make you forget your current problems and talk about real life in a dry sarcastic way I always do. I am an amazon affiliate so I will post links to my best bets but just know I stand behind what I endorse. I’m a an avid makeup, hair and clothing expert at 50 and can tell you how to work a coupon. I got a 95% on my math regents and excelled in math but nobody at the supermarket asks me to solve an equation but they have asked me to get the ice cream way in the back since I’m tall. So if you are a person who remembers “My first Sony”, you can relate to my first Blog. The Walkman and Back to future go hand in hand in my head. I would spend hours at work listening to my Walkman and there was one feature that made my work shift go by so fast – the almighty AUTO REVERSE. It actually flipped the cassette tape direction it was playing and we never had to open the walkman. Such state of the art technology. These are the things I relish in life; the simple Sony Walkman. Ponder on that thought today; the thought of a simpler life and a happier life. A life where we could press the auto reverse button and flip our lives over in a second. We may never get back there but I do think that if you can connect with those things that made you the happiest you can go back in time and smile in this world and not in an emoticon.
